system of linear equations

2x + 3y = 19
x + y = 8.

 2x+3y=19
x+y=8=>y=8-x
2x+3y=19=>2x+3(8-x)=19
2x+24-3x=19
2x-3x=19-24=-5
x=5
y=8-x=3
